I know i'm not suppose to 'cerita' about other people. But well, it is just too weird not to share.
So i'm just keeping the characters anonymous to preserve their dignity. Watever that is left.
This is a true story about this aunty i know and her son, Joe.
Aunty comes from a not so well-to-do family, a single parent and has to work to make ends meet. Joe is running away (AWOL) from NS and has a gf name Ana. Few months ago, the aunty told me that Ana is a teacher. And i was thinking... huh? a teacher, someone so intelligent, wants to be with a 'fugitive'? I'm like wat??? so i assume its plainly because of love. So Ana tried to be nice to the aunty by buying her stuphs and wanting to treat her dinner for her birthday. Fruitless. This aunty is not sum1 who can be 'bought in' easily.
Joe is not working and always not home. And, just last month, when aunty was resting at home after a long day at work, she received a LOUD knock at the door. She opened the door only to find ANGRY loansharks storming past her and ransacked her place. As if that was not enuff, they had spraypainted the walls at the coridoor and the lift as well with Joe's name, IC number and of course, how much he owed them. He owed them $4000.
Joe was caught by his officers finally because of his running away from NS. He was released by bail by his friend who takes drugs with him. Maybe the friend did that just to save his own fucking ass! Aunty did not want him to be out tho. So he is out again wandering. With all that happening, Ana still sticks by him. And again... Wadda fuck?
So just yesterday, the aunty told me this: Last week, Ana's parents drop by her place to 'masuk meminang' Joe. That sends me goosebumps!
So, of course aunty rejected them flatly.
Guess wat? Ana had apparently lied to her parents about Joe. He told them Joe works as a forklift driver in the morning and also at a carwash at night. Why would she lie about that to her parents, then going to aunty's place summore! Wat was she thinking? The truth will be out wat?!!! APER CAKAP?
Here's the catch. Ana is not a teacher. She is a school clerk.
She has used the school's money: $17 000.
And the parents have paid $12 000 and was hoping Joe's parents would fork out the remaining money because Joe has also used the money.
So when her parents said that they wanna 'bincang pasal hal budak2", aunty melenting and scold Ana and Joe in front of her parents. She pointed that "Ana tahukan Joe macammana. Tak kerja, lari dari NS. Lagi kau nak kahwin ngan dia? Kau tipu ngan mak bapak kau kan?" and Ana was embarassed. "Kau nak kahwin ngan Joe pas tu nak makan aper? PASIR? Dia ni bukannya ada APA-APA. Satu sen pun tak pernah kasi aunty, lagi kau nak kahwin ngan dia?"
With that, her parents said, "Betul ke Ana?"
She just kept mum and gave aunty the cold hard stare. Like as if that scares aunty.
And with that, they apologized and left as well.
Later, she texted aunty, "U bocorkan rahsia kita dua."
HUH??????????? APER CAKAP?
